Giving back is an essential part of who we are. Our goal is to raise the level of awareness and social responsibility everywhere. For us, doing good is as important as doing well.
Dumping a bucket of ice water over one's head seems more like a college prank than a savvy marketing and fundraising tool. But that was exactly the premise behind the ALS Association's Ice Bucket Challenge, which took the Internet by storm in the summer of 2014. Colliers International was challenged and delivered, helping to spread awareness for ALS.
In February 2015, 30 Colliers professionals from around North America came together to help out Homes of Hope, in Tijuana, Mexico. We built homes for two families who had been previously sleeping on dirt floors, thereby putting roofs over their heads, floors beneath their feet and contributing to their future health and well-being. We're proud of the hard work it took the team to accomplish this -- and we had a lot of fun building and learning together.
On November 8, 2015, Colliers International offices across Asia closed their doors and spent the entire day giving back to their local communities.
April is Autism Month in the United States. Colliers celebrated on April 2, 2016, by helping to shine a light on autism awareness. Thousands of iconic landmarks, communities, businesses and homes across the globe shine bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families around the world affected by autism.
